简介
Vega’s digital language covers the spectrum between noise and pure sine. Using this sound world, Vega writes music in block gestures that can be described as micro-minimal with a passion towards machine-kind. The theme mentions the worm as its main example but it is not specific to this, rather it’s the ability of the worm to evolve into almost every situation that inspires these songs. The music explores the centuries for a language to express this theme, touching often on practices such as religious intoning and spoken-word. These practices were internalized to compose an original vocal and computer language that drives Vegas Wormsongs and its message. Henry Vega, born in New York City (1973), is an active composer and performer of new music whose works appear in productions of theatre, dance and concert music that focus solely on modern artistic trends. His music ranges from virtuosic instrumental writings to subtle colourful compositions orchestrating traditional instrumentations with the world of electronic sound. His current interests lie within theatrical settings of his music in combination with video in the space of minimal aesthetics that crosses simple harmonies over noisy counterpoints.
