Busting out of PONTIAC in 2011 with his hit street track "BEAT HIS A**," rapper BENPO grew up in MICHIGAN. Born BEN TATUM. It was his local crew who gave him his moniker, dubbing him "The Future of Rap," something the nation got to experience in 2010 when RUDE JUDE WHO IS ALSO FROM PONTIAC MICHIGAN gives BENPO a chance on his radio show on SHADE45. In 2011, he released the street album DROMAN and made a guest appearance on COUP THE REAL hit mixtape "MURDA MITTEN" In the fall of that year, as "BEAT HIS A**" was catching fire, it was announced that BENPO would be signing to CDBABY. and droping all his mixtapes on DATPIFF Featuring valuable input from his camp FIGHT MUSIC debuted at number two on the LOCAL charts. Later that year, BENPO enjoyed high-profile credits (co-writing and performance) on LOCAL and INDUSTRY ARTIST all Michigan singers and rappers.

BENPO's second full-length album, initially known as ENTREPONIGGA but later retitled IF I AINT A HUSTLER WHO IS, was issued in early 2014. It earned both critical acclaim and popular success and peaked at number two. Two singles from the album, BENPO went on a creative roll with three mixtapes, They primed his fans for his FIRST rap calabo album wit worldwide producer, and rap artist FUCOBUNKIN fresh off major tour wit TRIGG DA KIDD they finished WEIRDO MUSIC in TWO WEEKS which debuted at number one in the hood august 2015.
