A 7-piece reggae band based in South Oxnard, California. The soulful sound of Dirty Rice is a mix of roots, rock, reggae combined with never-ending drum grooves, acoustic guitar, wholesome keys, rockin' bass riffs, and soothing vocal harmonies. Dirty Rice's "Heart of A Lion" 4-track EP highlights a touch of each of their members views on life, family and culture. It's a song dedication to the some of the hardships people go through and melodies of upliftment and comfort for those they hold near and dear to them. In their 4-track EP's meaningful tunes - you can groove to songs about struggle, abandonment, surviving and overcoming, to fighting the battles that life spontaneously brings you, including bullying, childhood cancer and something as simple as love. Fusing stems of each members' musical backgrounds, hints of punk, metal, grunge and bits of classical comes fused with reggae to execute climactic progressions to enhance their strong sounding three-part harmonies.
