简介
The Tone Kings are a Seattle-based guitar band that play true Texas-style bar band music. With a mix of authentic blues, country and original tunes, they have assembled a show that is a delight to see and will have you saying, “OK, I’m going to have to dance now” before you can think. With roots in the music of Freddie King and Billy Joe Shaver, the Tone Kings original tunes bring out the flavor and boot stompin’ fun of a good old Texas dance bar on a Saturday night. Fabian Månsson — guitar, vocals, slide guitar, occasional whistling, electric mandolin, harmonica and lap-steel. Fabian was born and raised in Sweden and has played most of the small stages of Europe with blues heroes including Anders F Ronnblom, the Mojo Kings, Serious Trouble, Mr. Soul & the Marshmallows and Kjell Hoglund. A master of “Toneology” Fabian is responsible for much of the creativity in the Tone Kings arrangements and original content. Tim Bethune — guitar and vocals. Originally from Canada, Tim has lived in the Northwest for the past number of years but got his music schooling in the Deep South. During his New Orleans years he played with the J. Monkey D. Blues Band and the Cyril Neville Uptown All-stars to name a couple. Tim is a witty songwriter as well as musical talent and is responsible for many of the Tone Kings original tunes. Steve Hopkins — drums and percussion. Steve is from the Portland, Oregon scene and has played with the likes of the Road Cats, Bill Rhodes and the Party Kings and John Fahey to name a few. Steve is a natural born blues drummer with chops that wander into jazz at times. His percussion details and tasty rhythm account for much of the original sound of the Tone Kings music. Steve Ater — bass guitar and upright bass. Steve was born in Indiana and raised in Colorado. He grew up playing rock and blues but got his music schooling in jazz. Steve has lived in the Northwest for the past ten years and has played in the Seattle area with the Chester City Blues band and Dennis Jones. He is also the host of the Oxford Saloon Blues Jam featuring C.D. Woodbury & Friends. Steve was born with rhythm and his natural groove accounts for much of the Tone Kings sound. @2007 The Tone Kings
