简介
Is it folk, Americana, Country or maybe rock? Is outlaw Americana a thing? Well, regardless, this is it. Hailing from rural North Carolina and now living in urban Colorado, Alex Rhodes presents songs with folk and country roots and pop rock sensibility. This is what happens when you're raised on Peter, Paul and Mary, Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce; and your dad teaches you to play the guitar. Add in Rhodes' focus on songwriting and guilty pleasure of pop rock and country music, and you begin to hear where his sound originates. Rhodes was lead singer of the rock band Allday Afternoon in Chapel Hill, NC in the early 2000s. He is now trying his hat solo, and is heavily influenced by artists like Wilco, The Avett Brothers, Mike Doughty, Ryan Adams, Josh Ritter and Joe Pug. Rhodes' songs are lyrically conscious and may be personal and serious or be a funny story about a friend. Regardless of subject, Rhodes crafts catchy melodies and hooks over a welcoming, down-home backdrop of acoustic guitar and folk rhythms.
