Ellery Daines recorded his first two EPs, "EEP!" and "RANTS" while studying at university in Christchurch, New Zealand. After moving to Auckland in late 2015, he got drummer Sam Edmonds (Recommended by your Mom, Little Oceans) and bassist Nick Jones (Optical Pet) on board to form the Ellery Daines Trio. The Ellery Daines Trio played their first ever live show at Auckland's Lucha Lounge on January 6, 2016. Just over 6 months later, the band won the Best Drummer award at the Demon Energy Battle of the Bands national final for Sam’s performance. Throughout the rest of 2016 they have also played numerous local shows in Auckland. Ellery Daines has had airplay on radio stations across the country this year via the NZ Hard Rock Radio show, and was featured on the RDU Pik’n’mix show where he gave an interview and performed live-to-air in the studio. The Ellery Daines Trio have recently recorded a live session at Parachute Studios in Auckland, with the session captured on 360-degree camera.
