530Techno, a boutique record label based in rural Northern California launches with the first release by Swedish born Hjalmar Hake (aka Oilpanic). With prior releases on Fade Records, Blipswitch Digital and Musical Missionary, Oilpanic is poised to bring his funky techno shuffle worldwide. With TWL he drops 2 solid original cuts of quality peak time and late night techno. On remix duties are NYC dj/producer Derek Marin (Plastic City/Subtrak/Faucet) dropping a dark and emotive tech-house stomper, accentuating the haunting vocal sample. Finishing out the EP, label manager Symbio takes us on a deep outdoor techno journey with nods to early 90s Detroit and West Coast Freak Chakra. In the farthest reaches of America's backwaters, a small group of electronic musicians make music that reflects the diverse backgrounds of their region as well as the stark realities of the struggle that is life in remote, rural Northern California.
