简介

Jeff Lyman is a musician/singer/songwriter from Wilmington, MA. He completed and released his first full length CD of original music entitled "Brighter Day" back in 2003. Both acoustic to electric, these tunes can be categorized from folk-country-pop to rock. This collection of (9) songs showcases Lyman's eclectic musical style. Lyman says: "I love to write songs and it gives me a sense of accomplishment when I write a good one. At this point in my career, most of the songs have begun with the lyrics. Some songs come more naturally and easier than others. Observing, listening and experiencing the world has helped my songwriting. Ideas also come from talking and laughing. Many of my creative spurts come while I am busy w/ other pursuits. Growing up my influences were the Beatles, Stones, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Motown, the Eagles, Neil Young, and Southern rock. As a part-time Disc Jockey I am regularly being exposed to new musical sounds. People seem to respond positively and are interested in the range of material I write. My songwriting relates to everyday life, fantasy, and hope. This ability has certainly developed." Lyman has played solo, formed duets, trios and various bands as rhythm guitarist, harmonica and vocalist. He has filled in for a few local bands as well. The musicians playing on "Brighter Day" are very talented and have played around the Boston and NorthShore Area for many years. Mike MacIver, lead guitarist and piano, was vital towards completion of Lyman's CD, as was drummer Pete Vassil. Bob Warren and Vin Colella, both bass players, performed on the CD as well. Cherilyn Day, woman's voice on 'The Cleaning Lady'. Lyman's new CD was recorded and engineered by Charlie Borruso at Woodshop Recording in Andover, MA. The CD was mastered at M-Works Inc. in Cambridge, MA. Lyman wrote and demonstrated the bass-line to Steve Goffstein for the title track "Brighter Day". Lyman laughs, "Seeing as he (Goffstein) was a very talented jazz bassists, I figured I would let him perform it in the studio. If I recall it only took a couple of tries to get it right. The title track really comes alive towards the end, as is the case with most of the songs." Lyman is embarking on his next CD.
