简介
这是一本通往古巴音乐,或者更确切地说,通往艺术作品的护照。专辑由古巴最顶尖的音乐家Tata Güines(1930-2008)、Miguel Anga(1961-2006)?,以及古巴全明星乐队,共同打造。 rec. 1994 in Havana, Cuba. Released in 1995, now a historical document: Veteran congero Tata Güines (1930-2008) meets young Miguel Angá (1961-2006) and the Cuban All Stars. The Afro-Cuban heritage at a high point. PASAPORTE emerged out of the initial idea of combining two exceptional percussionists playing hand-to-hand: Federico Aristides Soto "Tata Güines" and Miguel Díaz "Angá". The former has become a legend of the skins over the years, his own unmistakable style proving him as a maestro not only of percussion playing but of Cuban music in general. The latter, some 30 years younger but with extraordinary talent connected with experience (he played in one of the most famous Cuban bands, "Irakere"), has found his own "beat" that is highly appreciated in contemporary Latin American percussion. The "Cuban All-Stars" were born when these two stars of Afro-Cuban music (also known as "salsa") decided to ask six more "legends" to participate in the recording, all of them unquestioned veteran masters of Cuba's popular music: piano player Frank Emilio, flutist Richard Egües, bass player Orlando López "Cachaito", and vocalists Merceditas Valdés, Estanislao Sureda "Laito" and Raúl Planas. For the accompaniment they turned to some key figures of the most important bands on Cuba's contemporary scene such as Irakere, NG La Banda, Afrocuba and the groups led by Pachito Alonso and Issac Delgado. So PASAPORTE turned out as a real and authentic summit of Afro-Cuban music providing highlights of conga virtuosity along with fiery jazz blowing from the horns.
