Ines Cook is a Peruvian singer and songwriter. She was already well known and greatly appreciated for her work as a poet before she released her first song album. “No Lies” came out in 2007 bringing deep changes into her life, as she started to perform and, gradually, find out people loved her songs: music had taken over. Since then, she has been composing almost vertiginously and, at the moment, she is recording her second album, which will be released in May 2009. Ines Cook’s style in “No Lies” has been termed “unclassifiable” by music critics because of its originality and also due to the peculiar blending of styles. There’s electronic pop, chill out, elements of R&B, Jazz and even hip hop, which combine harmoniously to bring out a very interesting fusion. The whole album runs very smooth from beginning to end and it has a “cool”, relaxing quality. It’s the kind of record you keep in your car and listen to over and over again.
