Mahler: Symphony No. 5 (马勒:第5号交响曲)

Mahler: Symphony No. 5 (马勒:第5号交响曲)

简介

Mahler’s symphonies tell great stories of life, death and beyond. None do it with more melody, romance, or epic sweep than the Fifth. It traces a huge emotional arc through darkness and emotional turbulence, to heady optimism and humour. It is one of music's greatest odysseys, containing Viennese waltzes, funeral marches and the tender, exquisitely poignant Adagietto, used in Visconti’s film Death in Venice. The Orchestra of the Music Makers is the recipient of the 2009 HSBC Youth Excellence Award for Musical Excellence and has received laudatory reviews for its performances and recordings in both local and influential international press. Run and managed entirely by its volunteer-musicians, the Orchestra seeks to nurture the musical and non-musical talents of its members.
