Guitar, Lead Vocal- Riley Hill Mandolin, Tenor Vocal- David Thom Banjo- Jack Hicks Fiddle #1- Mathew Hooper Fiddle #2 (Runnin' Late, Darling Nellie Across The Sea)- Paul Shelasky Bass- Bobby Davis Baritone Vocal- Ryan Breen Engineered by David Thom and Jack Hicks, Produced by David Thom and Riley Hill This album was created over the course of April 2014 to November 2014 and links two distinct flavors of regional bluegrass music. The guitar and mandolin work done by Riley Hill and David Thom in Sonoma, CA draws influences from west coast innovators like David Grisman and Jerry Garcia as well as traditional bluegrass pioneers like Doc Watson and Bill Monroe. The vocals done by Hill, Thom and Ryan Breen have a unique sound of tightly blended harmonies and more of a west coast sound influenced by the likes of Laurie Lewis, Vern Williams and Red Allen. The banjo, lead fiddle and bass duties were recorded in Lexington Kentucky and feature the work of Jack Hicks, who spent time playing banjo along side the father of bluegrass music himself Bill Monroe as well as Jim and Jesse and the Virginia Boys and many others. Bobby Davis (fiddle) and Matt Hooper (bass) are seasoned bluegrass vets themselves playing with the Grammy winning singer/producer Don Rigsby for several years. The album blends all of the influences well into a stew of coast to coast musicians that share a deep love of bluegrass music and it's traditional origins. The song selection is a strong representation of Riley's personality featuring songs by Bob Dylan, bluegrass songwriting legend Pete Goble, California parking lot jam standards like "Darling Nellie Across The Sea" and takes on traditional standards like "Carolina Mountain Home".
