First Presbyterian Church of Brooklyn (Artist) Featured for two seasons on the Hallmark network’s America at Worship, FPC is proud to be one of the most multicultural choirs in the Presbyterian denomination. Following the lead of Pastor emeritus, Paul Smith, the FPC Choir is an intentionally diverse group. Ranging in age from 18 to 74, containing many races, straight and gay, professional singers and amateurs, former high-ranking federal government officials and college students, FPC is committed to proclaiming God’s kingdom for all people. FPC’s unique Christian-Gospel-Funk-Motown fusion sound is getting rave reviews everywhere they are heard. Derrick Bell, scholar and author of “Gospel Choirs” calls FPC “one of the great ones.” Minister James A. Forbes, one of Newsweek’s “12 most influential Black preachers,” says that FPC’s unique blend of music “fills all four chambers of my heart.” Amateur video posted on YouTube of the choir is generating thousands of views through word-of-mouth alone. First Presbyterian Church’s fourth album “Guide My Feet, The Brooklyn Live Sessions” will be released Mar 2010.
