简介

From unreality lead me to reality. From darkness lead me to light. (luminosity) From death lead me to immortality. asato mā sadgamaya tamaso mā jyotir gamaya mṛtyor mā amṛtam gamaya From the first chapter of the brihadaranyaka upanishad, this text is familiar to many yogis and has a beautiful resonance in my life. Asato Mā is the first solo release from a bigger recording project, Agni, Fire of Creation. This project will include a Gayatri mantra, Peter's Sthira Sukham Āsanam, Arunācala, a śiva mantra and several more inspirational gems. Peter Alexander, a composer, singer, songwriter brings decades of experience to his spiritual practice and music. Having grown up among the redwoods of Northern California, his every breath is filled with a great reverence for the earth and all its natural wonders. When Peter discovered yoga, Kirtan, Mantra Meditation and the ancient Sanskrit texts associated with them, he immediately began to apply his vast musical recourses to revealing and sharing these texts. Peter frequently provides a live musical soundscape during yoga classes and leads regular sessions of Mantra Meditation in which he tells stories and shares insights into the vast depths of vedic and other sanskrit texts. Visit Healing Kirtan and join the kula. Peter is completely thrilled to be collaborating with Greg Barnett for this entire project. Greg will play Bass, Guitars and as the project’s producer he is creating that lush sparkle that blossoms in the final mixes. Greg Barnett has performed many hundreds of times in styles ranging from classical to jazz to Celtic to rock in concert halls, circus tents, nightclubs, churches, yoga studios, and theaters. Some highlights include two years touring North America and Europe with Cirque du Soleil's Dralion, five seasons with the California Shakespeare Festival, and multiple appearances at spiritual music festivals on the West Coast. He also has recording and mixing credits on numerous albums. In 2016 he supplied bass and guitar and co-mixed Acharya Mangalananda’s album “Auspicious Bliss.” He received a Master of Music degree in 1988. Greg is dedicated to creating music that expresses love, joy, gratitude, and the Divine. asato mā credits: Vocals by Peter Alexander Freenotes by Peter Alexander Guitars by Greg Barnett Arranged, engineered and mixed by Greg Barnett and Peter Alexander Mastered and Produced by Greg Barnett
