简介
Can of Worms is a six piece indie rock band based in East London. We have been together as a band since 2015 and in only two years have made some great achievements: - Auditioned with the Independent Music Exporters of South Africa (IMEXSA) in East London in October 2015 - Attended SA Indies Music Week at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg - Selected to play in an international music festival sponsored by IMEXSA. - Recorded a full album of original music (sponsored by the ECAVC) - Released debut single “Kettle of Fish” to radio and all major music digital distribution channels, reaching no. 1 spot on the SA Top 20 on Wild Coast FM for two weeks running - Shared stages with well-known SA music acts including: Jeremy Loops, Majozi, Heather Waters, Manouche, Jason Gladwin, Aston Wylie, The Brothers and more! Our Set Our standard set is based around a 50-60 minute performance of all original music incorporating a range of musical genres including light rock, indie, punk and elements of African and jazz. Our musical style is widely varied due to the fact that all members of the band bring their creativity into the group and are a part of the music making process. This is our “sit up and listen” set – we’re loud, we’re funky and we want people to get up and dancing! We’ve recently been working on a more laid back set for those occasions that require a mellow musical background. This set taps into a more chilled out swing session using our original songs, refrains and jams as a basis, it can be a stand-alone set or a warm up to the main performance; suitable for wine tasting events, weddings, dinner parties and cocktail events. The Band Can of Worms is made up of six members; Cindy Schenk on lead vocals, April Bosazza on sax/ flute/ clarinet/ keys, Niel Van Dyk on electric guitar, Dave Collis on bass, Steve Meise on drums and Debbie Fairley on percussion and sound effects. Collectively we have a wealth of musical experience with many years of performance in everything from rock and electronic bands to classical orchestras and swing bands. Manager Shaun Searle is the man on the ground supporting the band from back stage; securing gigs, managing online music distribution and web presence, financial management and band co-ordination (that’s a big job!).
