After an impressive few weeks of promo for our second release on FFR, Captivated garnished some fantastic support and much to our surprise we were contacted by a member of the A-list in Trance music, B.E.N. from Armada and ColdHarbour Recordings. A career spanning nearly ten years and counting, yet still only twenty two years of age. A DJ renowned on a global scale plus a music producer releasing his works on some the biggest electronic dance music imprints out there - Welcome to the world of B.E.N. Starting out primarily as a DJ aged twelve, B.E.N. quickly gained great praise for his mixing ability and track selections from names such as John 00 Fleming and Guy Ornadel, and from there on, gradually developed a DJ style combining a range of genres from Progressive House to Uplifting Trance with experimental use of both Psychedelic & Hard Dance styles too. This inevitably was the building blocks of which over the years has enabled B.E.N. to play many events globally and due to his diverse style and versatility, has lead him on to play a wide variety of sets too; whether it be playing before Progressive House act's or coming on after Hard Dance DJ's at rocking BPM's. Building on from being just a DJ, gaining early credit from the likes of Pete Tong, B.E.N. developed a keen ear for music production and the success in that field has created an ever popular production discography with releases on some of the most upstanding labels in the scene, such as; Armada Music, Coldharbour Recordings & J00F Recordings as-well as high profile remixes for many respected artists. B.E.N.'s dedicated work over the years has been recognised by many and he has found solid support both as a DJ and as a music producer from the likes of Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond and Ferry Corsten to name but a few. Add to this, accolades such as; Tiesto commenting on B.E.N. as "doing great", key production support from Judge Jules on his weekly BBC Radio 1 show and Armin van Buuren giving multiple track plays on his A State Of Trance show (including the Tune Of The Week accolade), plus Markus Schulz tipping B.E.N. as a 'Breakthrough' act in DJ Mag - the list goes on for achievements and keen followers of what B.E.N. is all about. Taking things up a level once again in 2010, B.E.N. is set for what seems to be his busiest year yet. Appearances on the international touring schedule of dance music heavyweights Gatecrasher, as-well as launching a new DJ / Live show concept with Eller van Buuren (as-well as a number of studio productions together) are just a few of the highlights of what's to come. Add to that, a totally revamped version of his popular 'Dot.DJ Radio' concept on Afterhours.fm (as-well as a number of syndicated radio stations worldwide) , plus continued work on his first studio album (which is set to incorporate everything from down-tempo to Hard Dance) and we're left with a very promising year ahead indeed!
