简介
The anticipated new album from Universal Trilogy is here. After 8 years of silence the band from Thessaloniki, Greece with the unique and distinguishing sound are back with "Pop Crisis", a one of a kind album that embraces the whole spectrum of modern electronica through 10 new melodic alternative pop rock compositions. Universal Trilogy produce a fresh sound with references to their favorite breakbeats, the unique 90s synths, trip hop and dubstep, indie electronica, stylized pop rock guitars and melodic vocals. The final result balances perfectly between the pop sound of Archive and Depeche Mode, the rock attitude of Primal Scream, Prodigy and Chemical Brothers and the electro dance aspect of Underworld and Faithless and finally this whole music landscape is completed with psychedelic 70s references to the sound of Pink Floyd and Barclay James Harvest. Universal Trilogy create a comprehensive modern album, trademark of their 18 years history. It all started in 1994 when P.X. Harris, CJ A.O.S. and Nomik started their appearances at clubs and parties of Thessaloniki, Greece. With the release of Global EP in 1995 they became known to the general public and climaxed with their live performance at the famous Rodon Club in Athens taking place at the Greek Contest for Best Rock Song. One year later they were back at Rodon Club's stage as guests performing for the first time their first album titled "Multimorphic". The release of the album is followed by a nationwide tour. In 1997 the group releases their second album "Front Line" and shows up as guests in the Greek Contest for Djs in Athens. The next three years Universal Trilogy are experimenting in the studio shaping their new sound, participate with "Rave Tango" in collaboration with Stefanos Korkolis in the soundtrack of the film "The Mating Game" while they perform at Amstel Beer Promo Tour at all the big cities across Greece and they also performed in Italy and Germany in 1999. On February 2000 they play as support group with "Death In Vegas" at Mylos CLub giving the audience a small taste of their new album. In 2001 their third album is released, titled "Plus (+)". The singles "Inside Blue" and "Make My Day" dominate the radio airplay while the group performs live across the country and participates in big festivals with big names such as Elbow and Scissor Sisters. In 2002 the great producer John Antony (Queen, Genesis, Roxy Music, Van Der Graaf Generator, Ace, XTC etc.) comes to Greece to work with the group on their new and old material. The result of this collaboration is their 4th album titled "I Thought It Was All Over' released in 2004.
