"The Adventures of Dan", starts out like a Doctor Seuss story. I was a born again Christian at the time of it's early writing, so it developed into a savior allegory, with Dan living on planet Glup, and Lor the eagle, being the Christ figure appearing from another dimension. I was editing and directing episodic television at the time and showed the manuscript to the show's executive producer. "It's great but what are you going to do with it," he asked? It was very visual but outside of animation or hiring a high end artist how was I going to exhibit it? "A radio type show," that's what it was, with sound effects, music and actors. Michael Rider had sung with me in "Two Micks and a Chick," and was also a professional actor himself. He and his actress lady, Andrea Cunningham, along with Franck Bensoussan's perfect score, performed it as a reading live at Cafe Aroma in Idyllwild California. It was a great couple of nights. Most of this CD is from that live show at Aroma.
