2014 Steel Praising Concert The history of Sacred Steel is a fascinating one and is said by many to be one of the most extraordinary American roots musical forms of the 21st century. Del Ray and Kelli Grace began the journey of preserving, and promoting the music and history of the African American Hawaiian steel guitar tradition in 2009. The six Annual Sacred Strings Showcase, entitled “Steel Praising Concert,” was recorded live in Toledo, Ohio. Aubrey Ghent of Nashville, Tennesee was the headliner for this grand event. Aubrey Ghent along with Charles Flenory of Detroit, Michigan, and the late Eartley Washington of Raleigh, North Carolina, were inducted into the 2014 Sacred Steel Hall of Fame. Performers from eight cities and ten states attended this grand event each making a joyful noise on the string instruments. Bishop Ronnie P.
