简介
Born as celebrative album for the 1st 10 years of activity, "Tales (10 years of TWM)" is a collection of the best version of the most-wanted songs the electro acoustic orchestra named "The Wimshurst's Machine" ever recorded and includes several alternate versions and two previously unreleased tracks together with all the award-winning tracks. Instrumental ambient/new age music, with a hint of folk and rock, this is ideal to be used as soundtrack or to set a charming, dreamy state in the listener. The Wimshurst’s Machine is an award-winning 8-member Italian chillout orchestra that plays warm, infectious, environmental music. Seamlessly crossing between rock, jazz, world beat and progressive electronica TWM produce themes ideal for big-screen productions. The Wimshurst's Machine mixes real instruments and synthetic sounds even during live events to build their typical electro-acousting feeling. The setup includes: Augusto Chiarle - sax and synths, Antonio Rapacciuolo - trumpet and cornet, Roberto Canone - sax, clarinet and keyboards, Daniele Scerra – electric guitar and visual arts, Fabio Rodi – keyboards and synths, Elvis Bergero – keyboards, and Duilio Chiarle – novels, acoustic and classical guitars. This album features also: Corrado Rossi (piano in tracks 12 and 16), Marco Canone, (acoustic drums in track 01), Jered McKenna (piano in track 05), Massimiliano Baudissard (acoustic drums in tracks 02, 05, 07, 11), Julie Murphy (vocals in 05, 08, under licence AMG). Some of the reviews got in past from TWM includes: "Real Smooth Sound!" Brian Keith, 2039 Music Group "A chilled out ambient piece of musical genius." Jay Adkins, N.U.A. internet radio "TWM's innovation and excellence reminds us all that indeed there is still plenty of beauty and love to be found in contemporary soundtrack music - the kind that the Wimshurst's Machine are breaking new ground with all the time!" Colin Lynch, International Online Music Magazine "Listening to the TWM you'd travel into a relaxing world of good music. TWM plays a mix of acoustic and electronic music, sometimes inspired by ancient or traditional tunes (Irish, indian or spanish), mixed with modern sounds, from chill-out to jazz, with a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments. The music of TWM is something that will make you dream. A dream you won't forget." (published TWM review) Between all the soundtracks and awards of the band we will note the Hollywood Music in Media Award nominations (4 times: in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013), the Music Aid (2007), the International Online Music Awards (2006 and 2007). Best soundtrack placement with "Freedom Calls" as main titles of the british movie "The Quiet Assassin" (directed by Alex Hardcastle, Channel4, 2006) but the band scored many sountracks for documentaries, stage plays and movies all around the world (and this partially explains also the particularly eclectic band's style).
