简介
by Greg Prato According to Lars Ulrich, Diamond Head was one of the best New Wave of British Heavy Metal live acts that he witnessed as a youth. Many would have to take Ulrich's word for it, as the group never managed to play in front of the type of large audiences that certain other N.W.O.B.H.M. bands would (namely Iron Maiden and Def Leppard). And for a spell during the late '80s, it seemed like many metalheads had missed their chance to witness one of Metallica's chief influences in the flesh. But during the early '90s, Diamond Head co-founders Sean Harris (vocals) and Brian Tatler (guitar) were back in business once more, playing gigs and issuing albums. One such show -- recorded at Wulfrun Hall, Wolverhampton, on November 21, 1991 -- was spotlighted several years later on the 2002 release, Live: In the Heat of the Night. However, with the majority of the track listing comprised of post-Lightning to the Nations tracks, Live: In the Heat of the Night undoubtedly lacks the firepower of catching the group in a cramped U.K. club back in 1980.
