The artists: Gauri Pathare: Gauri Pathare is one of the most prominent singers in the arena of classical music today. She was trained in music as a child by her mother Dr. Vidya Damle, and then she learned from the late Gangadhar Pimpalkhare of the Kirana gharana. Later she trained under the famous singer/composer Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki for six years from 1994 till his death in 1999. Later on, she became a pupil of the well-known singer Padma Talwalkar. Today, she manages to blend different aspects of Jaipur, Gwalior and Kirana gharanas into a harmonious whole in her style of singing. She is gifted with a tuneful and melodious voice and a pleasing personality Gauri renders traditional classical and semi-classical music with complete competence. She presents various forms of music ranging from hardcore classical to natya sangeet with command over accent of different genres The most prestigious "swara-bhaskar" puraskaar instituted in memory of late Pandit Bhimsen Joshi for the year 2012-13 was awarded to Smt. Gauri Pathare by the Surashri Pratisthan, Pune. Gauri was also awarded the equally prestigious Aditya V.Birla "Kala kiran" national award for the year 2013. Gauri has been delivering solo recitals all over India as well as abroad . Her overseas performances include multiple tours of France, Australia, USA and Singapore. Harshad Kanetkar: Harshad began his initial training in Tabla at the age of five with Shri Mukhade and later took intensive training from famous tabla player Ramdas Palsule who is the disciple of tabla maestro Pt. Suresh Talwalkar. He has accompanied classical vocalists and instrumentalists as well as classical dance artists and has toured extensively in India and abroad for the concerts. Anant Joshi: He is the disciple of veteran harmonium player Vishwanath Kanhere and has accompanied many prominent classical vocal singers. The Music: Raga Multani: This is a late afternoon raga with the following notes Ascending - N S g M P N S Descending: S N d P M g r S The artist presents two compositions, one in Teen Taal (16 beats) followed by the second in Ek Taal (12 beats) Raga Shree: This is an evening raga of Poorvi thaat with the following notes Ascending S r m P N S Descending: S N d P m G r S The artist presents a composition in Jhaap Tall (10 beats) made famous by well known vocalist D. V. Paluskar followed by a composition in Ek Taal (12 beats). Raga Hameer: This is a raga of Kalyan thaat with the following notes: Ascending S R S, G M D, N D S Descending: S N D P, m P D P, G M R S This too is the famous composition in Teen taal (16 beats) made popular by veteran vocalist D. V. Paluskar followed by a Tarana in fast tempo.
