Rose-Marie has been involved in both music and art from a very early age. She began playing guitar and singing in Calgary coffee houses, as well as in many venues and concert events over the years. When she was 18 she ran a small coffee house in downtown Calgary, and showed her love for live music by performing in local folk clubs, restaurants and the coffee house circuit. She continued her musical ventures by writing many original songs, and eventually producing albums with her musical friend Carey Parder. Rose-Marie and Carey have been collaborating musically for many years, with the successful compilation of two albums as well as having staged many live musical performances. The album "Moonlight In A Winter Sky" is the first of the two collections. It contains a variety of original songs delivered with a lyrical folk style with shades of jazz, country and light rock. "Blue Horizon", the second album, soothes the soul with its lovely mood, musical tapestries and sentimental, smooth melody and harmony vocals. A vision of beauty and positivity shines through in this album. Rose-Marie and Carey continue to keep their musical connection alive and have a continued interest in sharing their songs with the public. Rose-Marie is performing regularly at her new location in Bonnyville, Alberta, and continues to write songs, as well as pursue her career as a visual artist with lovely semi-abstract and abstract paintings. Rose-Marie has managed concerts at venues in Bonnyville, and has put together many events for local and well known musicians. Her career as a Public School teacher, musician and artist has been a constant joy for her as she has had wonderful opportunities to connect with the public with her passions for the fine arts. She has spent several years managing musical plays at her local theatre with students from the schools in the Northern Lights School Division. Over the years Rose-Marie also taught private vocal lessons to young students and spent many hours preparing them for local music festivals and performances. Music and art are still very prominent in her life and she continues to show strong development in these areas with performances and shows. Carey is a Canadian recording artist and composer from Calgary, Alberta. He runs HummingBird Studios which records and produces music for local artists and creates original music for Film and Television. As a performer Carey has played guitar many years in a variety of bands, duos and theatre ensembles. His experience composing and producing music spans a diversity of projects including feature length film, TV drama, documentaries, and commercials. He has several other albums released, including “Evening Light” a meditative instrumental album, and “NightBird” his first album of all original songs. He also has two instrumental guitar albums, “Mirage” and “Passages” recorded with guitarist William (Bill) Wilton under the duo name of “WilliamCarey”.
