简介
Since age 5, John Redmon has been in love with music. His mother, an accomplished pianist, decided to teach him the musical art, and encouraged him to play piano duets in the church services together. By age 9 she was able to afford lessons for young Redmon at Golden Gate Academy. For the next four consecutive years his instructors continued to push him for excellence in strict music theory and piano instruction. By age 12, he was not only being pushed to play by ear and sight, but also to compose original works. His hard work paid off as he won 1st place in the Trinity Chambers Songwriting Competition, and his song was performed by the Trinity Chambers Orchestra in Berkeley, CA. By 1991 Redmon was recording his original musical work at Master Track Studios, CA. "I’m a Miracle" co-written by former classmate Vila Germany was a Hollywood Song Jubilee Award Winner and was later performed on the Maury Povich Show. By 1995 he decided to house his original works within his own independent record label, Reaching Records. His work over the years has been exemplified by the many accolades, awards, and honorable mentions received, including the 1999 Golden Flame Award for Recording Excellence. Redmon has toured all over the United States and England with his message in song. He has produced and recorded multiple albums in diverse genres; most notably rhythm and blues, soft rock, gospel, and blues. He was a studio musician for MGYM, and his studio and performance experience is included with works of Grammy and Dove award winners including BeBe & CeCe Winans, Patti Labelle, and Phil & Brenda Nicholas. His latest work John Redmon & Friends: Faith Love & Unity, Vol 1 received national recognition and was nominated for Best Gospel Album at the 9th Annual Independent Music Awards. Amongst his many other talents, Redmon is also an entrepreneur (inducted in the 2009-2010 Cambridge Who's Who Amongst Professionals, Executives and Entrepreneurs), actor, motivational speaker, musical director/consultant, vocal/musical coach.
