简介
Since 2004, The Detentions, Dan Sullivan and Chris Hillier, have been helping folks "retire one weekend at a time" all over Central Texas and the Gulf Coast. Growing up in the midwest, they had a broad range of musical influences from Kiss, XTC and U2 to Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce and John Mellencamp. In the mid 90's, they moved to Austin, TX and became inspired by the likes of local songwriters such as Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker and Walt Wilkins. The Detentions call their blend of Country, Folk and Americana music, "Rockamole." The Detentions were selected and performed as a Regional Finalist at the 2012 Kerrville Folk Festival for their songs, "Smoke and Beers" and "If This Guitar." They were also asked to open for Texas legend, Joe Ely at The Saxon Pub this summer. And recently, they were invited to open for Nashville Hall of Fame Songwriter, Mac McAnally, in Ferndale, Michigan. The concert was a benefit for The Wounded Warriors Project. The Detentions released their highly anticipated self-titled sophomore album in November of 2013. www.thedetentions.com
