简介
About The Album: Home Songs is a collection of songs written for family and friends over the years and performed for special occasions/events here there and yonder. You will hear an unplugged acoustic guitar as the foundation for most of the songs. The intent was to keep the songs musically simple but lyrically powerful. Many of these songs were shared for the first time one on one, or to a couple, or small family group. Some of the "victims" of these songs called for them to be recorded and shared with the world, so, here we go! About The Songwriter: Steve has been singing since he was talking, and has spent most of his musical life studying, practicing, leading, and teaching acapella harmonies, and working with churches to improve their congregational singing. One of the most satisfying aspects of his work has been teaching young people to improve their vocal talents and songleading skills. On the other hand, playing guitar has always been for Steve a welcome relief from the everyday grind of life, work, and other hazards to relative sanity. So this collection was written for guitar acompaniment, and the percussion and other instruments heard on the album were chosen by design to add a splash of character as prescribed. Short Bio For Each Song From Steve: 1) Could She Be Mine. This one was written for my oldest Son and his wonderful wife upon their engagement. 2) Holding You Close In My Mind. Written for my youngest Son and his wonderful wife and performed at their wedding. 3) Like The Love In Your Eyes. Written for one of my neices and her beau and performed in 4 part acapella harmony at their wedding. He don't deserve her. 4) When Two Become One. 3 guesses. She still washes my blue jeans and feeds me and puts up with me after 31 years of marriage. 5) Mama Is Her Name. No brainer. Love you Mom. 6) Lucille. Yes that is my Grandmother's real name, and as of this writing she is still a live wire at 93 years of age. 7) Love Together Forever. For my grandbabies, and all the ties that bind. 8) Home Is Where The Heart Is. Remembering some trips the wife and I have enjoyed, or mostly enjoyed. 9) Will I Ever Make You Mine. For another neice for their engagement. No, he don't deserve her either. 10) Grandpa Kind. For my late Grandfather. This song was written and performed at a family gathering while we still had him. He was what Grandpas are supposed to be. Kudos From Steve: I'd like to thank all of the friends and family members that encouraged me to assemble this album. I'd like to thank my musical friend and consultant Gary Lohman for helping me put the scratch track together, that's where this got off the ground. Special thanks to Aaron Kemkaran and the session guys and gals at Red Silo Studios for their work helping me fullfill the vision I had for the album musically. Thanks to my wife, Brenda, who is the inspiration for the sentiments expressed in many of these songs. For over 30 years she has endured all the sounds coming from my "music room". Most of all Thank God thru Jesus Christ for creating the "Home" in the first place. It is to the wonders of this grand institution that this album is dedicated. Hope you enjoy the songs, and hope you are inspired by the message. Steve
