Anne "Theresa Marie" Stansell is an singer,song-writer from the Atlanta Area.Singing for as long as I can remember and playing folk style guitar since I was fifteen. I always wrote from the time I first started playing,it helped me learn to play and the experience of expressing what was important to me at the time was and is an incredable experience. After several years of putting my writing on the back-burner, I have returned to it wholeheartedly. Meaning writing, playing,and singing are "loves of my life"and are worth doing for thier own sake.I am an avid supporter of "The Artist Way" a 12-step creative recovery program,which had a big part in the writing an completion of this CD."Get Out and Walk" chronicles my journey from taking my dreamsout of the closet,dusting them off and beginning to give them place in my life. The title cut "Get out and Walk" talks about my experience of accepting who I am, what I want to do, and doing it.I specifically address the fact no matter where you are in life you can start from there. I started, about two years ago to study classical guitar.I hoped it would help me learn more about music, grow as a musician, and as a lyric writer. IT HAS !!!! A line I wrote in the title cut, "Travelin now it may seem slow, beats sittin on the side of the road " has definitely been true for me!! While I wrote that song from a place of "grim determination" rather then a "flower strown-sunshine journey, the upbeat blue-grassy spin given it at the studio was a pleasant surprise.Laughter does good like a medicine and every time I hear that cut it makes me smile.
