Melissa Pinto is a composer, arranger and pianist, linked to music from her childhood. She was born in Cartagena, Colombia. After performing in various jazz festivals and venues in Colombia being pianist of some local groups and also moved by her Caribbean roots, she decided to create her own project as a composer and leader in which has been working since 2011. Now she has finally managed to record her first album titled as "Oí na' ma'" that will be released in August of 2014 under the independent label LOCUS.

In this album Melissa recorded with saxophonists Juan David Mojica and Andrew Urbina, bassist Julián Gómez, drummer Jacobo Alvarez and the guests Carlos Parra on trumpet, Antonio Arnedo on soprano saxophone, singer Urpi Barco, David Londoño and Francisco Gómez on strings. All of them are artist of long trajectory who not only participated in the top jazz and music festivals in Colombia but also in major international venues.
