简介
Reminiscent of the first time you heard LL Cool J proclaim he was “Bad”, when Ice Cube warned the hip-hop world that he was “Jackin’ for Beats”, you knew no prisoners were being taken, at least not breathing. Yung Slab’s aggressive vocal tone rings loud & clear from jump on the very first track, “So Fresh (Hoe Boss)” and continues on through the remaining twelve tracks. The mic is at the mercy of this young, twenty-four year old Leo roaring out of Arkansas. “Natural Hawggin”, paying homage to his home state, is a testimony of hard work, everyday grind, and old-school discipline. Dreaming of becoming a hip-hop icon since junior high, this Magnolia, Arkansas native now Dallas, Texas transplant is poised to put the Natural State on the southern hip-hop landscape and FINALLY bring the DFW metroplex to the forefront of hip-hop. Born Stephen Walker on August 04, 1984, Yung Slab was first artist signed to indie label, Management Company, and future conglomerate, Past2Present Entertainment. His step dad Aldric W. Rowe, who co-founded the company with childhood friend and comrade Ray Mallory, first approached Yung Slab in 2004 about putting together a music company upon hearing of his stepson tearing up South Arkansas clubs with a posse cut aptly titled “The Party Joint”. The dream soon became a vision as the groundwork for building a label began with Yung Slab as its foundation to build upon. Officially released in the fall of 2008, Slab’s debut, Natural Hawggin’, bleeds the blood of a RAZORBACK. From the raunchy, hedonistic rhymes on “Bring it Back”, to the thought provoking, poignant lyrics discussing a world filled with crooked policies on “Why”, Yung Slab provides music for you to ride, hit the dance floor, and free your mind to. Artists from Arkansas and North Texas as well, including his cousin and fellow rhyme animal Joe Cookz, L.A. (Lost Angel), r&b crooner Thomas “Lucky” Walker, producers Roundman the Beatmaker, DJ Don Key, as well as production form Genie & Aaron, join him on many of the albums tracks. With a solid backing from family and friends, charming mannerisms to woo the ladies, and the balls to put his state on his back as he ascends up the ladder of hip-hop heirarchy.... You should be worried, you NEED to be scared. This is NOT a threat, this IS a promise. You have been clearly warned.... THE HAWG IS COMING. ARKANSAS, TEXAS, DURRRRRRRRRTY SOUTH..... STAND UP!
