"My first memory is of singing. Over the past 50 years, I've performed across the US, Canada and Europe, recorded 16 albums, and had several hundred covers of my songs by a wide variety of artists such as Alison Krauss, Pete Seeger, Emmylou Harris, John Denver and the Muppets. When I was 26, I recorded "Garden Song" ["Inch by Inch, Row by Row"] and that gave me my first big boost in the music business. Each record I've released has been more exciting and better than the last. It’s the stuff that keeps us writers and players alive and growing . Last year, I recorded a number of songs that inspired me when I was starting out. That project ("The Horse I Rode In On") turned out so well that I decided to jump right into a new album of original songs."
