简介

Brandi’s writing and singing styles are comparable to Shania Tawin, Sheryl Crow, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift and others. She loves to write, sing, record, and perform any chance she gets. She frequents open mic nights, small family oriented gigs, and works on recording projects for others as well. Brandi’s writing consists of love songs but also life songs, like growing up, struggling through life, enjoying life, etc… Her goal as a songwriter is to “hit” people inside and make them say, “That’s how I feel!” and bring good family enjoyable songs to the radio. She loves music, but is unhappy with a lot of the material on the radio these days, so hopefully she will be on the radio soon to change that! Brandi grew up in a family of music. Both her mother and father’s families are musically talented. Her mother’s father was in numerous bands playing the saxophone, accordian and other instruments, and is still a member of the Shiner Hobo Band, Shiner, Texas. Her mother’s brothers also played in bands with her grandpa, playing drums, guitar, and bass. On Brandi’s father’s side of the family, for several years her uncle Kenny Hillman was a major orchestra conductor and composer in Nevada at major casinos in Reno and Lake Tahoe, for performers like Frank Sinatra, Merle Haggard and many more. (Her father’s cousin, William Byron Hillman, is a movie director/producer of family friendly films.) Brandi’s father plays many instruments as well like the trumpet, bass and rhythm guitar, and piano, and was a member of many bands through-out the years, including her mother’s father’s band, The Edna Polka Boys. Her brothers also play almost every instrument and write music, along with her father. Her two sisters have beautiful voices and play some instruments as well. They are all very talented! So, you can see that music is in her blood! Brandi started playing the piano at an early age, imitating her father and brothers. In grade school she participated in music class playing flutaphones, piano, xylaphones and so on and performing in numerous programs. In high school she joined the women’s choir and performed in many concerts, solos and ensembles as well as talent shows. She also joined the school band and played the flute and saxophone. When Brandi was 14, her father taught her how to play rythum guitar, and the first song she learned was “House of the Rising Sun”. She would then listen to songs on the radio and learn how to play them by ear. On her 16th birthday, her parents bought her a gift- her first guitar. That was the start of many great things to come! She was listening to Shania Twain’s album, “Come On Over” when she got the inspiration to write her first song, which is called “You and I (Will Always Be)”. She then fell in love with writing and couldn’t stop! In 2005 William Byron Hillman, director/producer/actor of Destiny Worldwide Entertainment, signed “For You to Know” to use as a song in their independent film, and soundtrack, “Mr. Toy”, now available for purchase. Over the years Brandi has had multiple people contact her for representation, publishing deals, and opportunities to front various cover bands. However, she has had many mentors over her lengthy entertainment career that have helped her tremendously in her choices of who or who not to work with. Brandi is in this for the passion of music, and not for the rise to fame. Brandi is actively singing, writing, performing, and recording. She is searching for an opportunity to work with an indie label. She is also interested in writing for other artists.
