简介

ToolBox is the brain-child of songwriter/producer R. D. Hanna. The Power Pop Rock group has played throughout the LA club circuit, and opened for George Clinton Parliament-Funkadelic in front of thousands of screaming fans. This offering, "Better Off Alone", represents a wider variety of Rock styles, including the trademark up-tempo Power Pop sensibilities of TOOLBOX. A common motif in this album is that of liberation, self-reliance, motivation - if fed up with being in a rut, move on to greater things in life. With songs like "Hate" and "Pay", R.D. delves into darker, harder, angrier Rock. On the flip side of the emotional spectrum, with songs "Live Out Your Dreams", "Maybe", and "I Am Nothing", the amped energy of the album takes a short respite into a mellower, acoustic guitar sound. Then there's the sca and reggae influences in "That's The Way It Goes" and "Get On With Your Life" to make this a truly eclectic Pop Rock record. Biography R. D. Hanna has made his mark as a talented songwriter and owner of MCM Productions, a subsidiary of Prevalent Entertainment, Inc. and MacroCosmic Music Publishing, ASCAP. As a composer/producer, he has been signed with The Universal Music Group for the last 12 years; his songs have placed in the following feature films: STEALING HARVARD, SCARY MOVIE 2, BEDAZZLED, NEXT FRIDAY, DRIVE ME CRAZY, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, MONSTER, and on the following TV shows: CSI, FRASIER, ER, WEST WING, EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND, BOOMTOWN, LAS VEGAS, LAW & ORDER, THE AGENCY, ED, MD’s, NYPD BLUE, COLD CASE, JAG, WITHOUT A TRACE, THE TONIGHT SHOW, PUSH NEVADA, STILL STANDING, YES DEAR, 20/20, SURVIVOR, THE DISTRICT, KING OF QUEENS, JACK & JILL, THIRD WATCH, SECRET AGENT MAN, SABRINA, PROFILER, THE COSBY SHOW, ARLI$$, SEX IN THE CITY, OZ, PROMISED LAND and many more. Over the last several years, MTV has used dozens of RD’s coolest songs in a majority of its programming: THE OSBOURNES, PUNK’D, ROOM RAIDERS, MADE, WANNA COME IN, PIMP MY RIDE, NEXT, SCORE, WEDDING CRASHERS, , T-MINUS ROCK, YO MAMA, FROM WHACK TO MACK, DATE MY MOM, MY SUPER SWEET 16, and UNDRESSED. R.D. also had the honor to score music in THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, a film by the great director, Robert Zemeckis at IMAGEMOVERS STUDIOS. R.D. started out as a jazz guitarist in a Bay Area jazz ensemble, winning awards as a soloist in the jazz festival circuit. After arriving in Los Angeles, and achieving his Bachelor's degree at UCLA, he pursued production work in the booming Hollywood recording industry. He worked on recordings for Jody Watley, Andre Cymone of Prince's band, Mary Jane Girls, Teena Marie, Jesse Johnson of "The Time", Billy Preston, The Dazz Band, Parliament-Funkadelic, and Billy Idol. Subsequently, as songwriter and lead singer of his own band "DAY DREAM", R.D. performed live on Natalie Cole's National TV show, and had the honor to work with Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, After Seven, Patti Labelle, and Whitney Houston. Although he has roots in Jazz and Soul music, R.D. has always cultivated his knack to Rock, explosively illustrated in his band "ToolBox". He has produced several albums with "ToolBox" which charted top 10 in CMJ on the college music circuit.
