After a short hiatus, Undulate Recordings is back to start another outstanding year with its 9th release. “Measureable Offset” comes to you from one from Undulate’s more seasoned talents, Mike Kiraly. You'd be forgiven for thinking that Mike is a new artist. But in reality, Mike has been around longer than most – with roots dating back almost 20 years, to the origins of the nascent American rave scene. Mike’s first Undulate offering is a sheer clinic on melodic tech house done up properly. Unlike the title suggests, “Measurable Offset” is spot on in its delivery of sexy synth programming and an array of groovy percussion that all gel perfectly to maintain an underlying link between melody and bassline. Things start to get a lil harder on the flip as Frank Naht drops the proverbial hammer all over your existence with his Wrong Remix - which is oh so Right. Frank lifts the tempo a touch and demonstrates his Detroit-influenced style. Strong drums, warbling bass, and catchy synths make this track fly for all the right reasons. Track #3 is a rework by Undulate Co-boss, Al Alvarez aka Deepspell, that hits the mark on every level. Minimal sounds sit perfectly with low beats, and are layered with a subtle yet smooth melody to create a moody setting for this seriously groovy number. Rounding things out is a noticeably more housey remix by Frankie Pep. Frankie’s mix is dripping with a sun-soaked, hands-in-the-air vibe that pushes a slightly dark undertone and builds up to its climax brilliantly - layers upon layers of sound rush over you smoothly and leave you in a state of euphoria.
