简介

This CD was created with the help, hard work, and love of some great musicians, and producers. Hence a brief rundown of all the pertinent details is in order. HEAD DOWN I wrote this song while on my first tour as a drum tech. I was with Melissa Ethridge in Raleigh, North Carolina, when the whole song hit me over a ten minute period, and it was written. The song didn't truly come alive until I put in the hands of a brilliant guitarist named Bill Lewis. While not on the final recording, he is for damn sure now in the band. LOL! Co-produced by Jared Dodd of Perdenales Studios, and Brian Jones (Podunk), the music was recorded in world famous Arlyn Studios in downtown Austin, TX, and Matchbox Studios. Kenny Sharretts - Drums, and Vocals Jake Sherard - Guitars Brian Jones - Guitars Jemmie Hill - Bass NEVER X Wriiten with the intent to create a summer anthem about love lost, this song was lyrically driven by a 20 foot tall painting of Jim Morrison in Venice Beach. The track was recorded at Muddy Josh Studios, and co-produced by Josh Dossett, and Christina Sharretts. The final mix was done by Kevin Johnson of Big Circle TX. Kenny Sharretts - Drums, Keyboards, and Vocals Jake Sherard - Guitars, and Bass DAY IS DONE This song I wrote the day after 911. The sentiment of the song runs deep within me, and this is what came out when I tapped it. Freakin' hippies. This track was also recorded at Muddy Josh Studios, and co-produced by Josh Dossett, and Christina Sharretts. Kenny Sharretts - Drums, and Vocals Jake Sherard - Guitars, and Bass EMPTY The creation of this track has been an unbelievable artistic journey involving so many gifted people giving their time, and love to a song they found to be worth the effort. As a writer, I am truly flattered to have had this experience. The idea was sparked at Sluggo Sound Studios when bass player/ engineer Al Griffy overlapped two drum loops that we had just recorded. This was another song that hit me out of the blue, and within a day it was written. I went home, and found all the loops I needed (keys, guitars, drums, etc) to sketch out the song in a free CD from a Digital Audio mag I had just bought the day before. Creepy! LOL! After a few writing sessions with Pete Iannacone (bassist for Joss Stone), and an artistic/atmospheric overhaul at Perdenales Studios by co-producer Jared Dodd, this track took on a life of it's own. Add in some beautiful guitar parts played by Errol Cooney (Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera), and some amazing keyboard parts by Lamar Mitchell (Stevie Wonder, Macy Gray) and voila, . . . a new genre called atmospheric euro-soul is born! Kenny Sharretts - Drums, Keys, Percussion, and Vocals Jared Dodd - Keys, and Loops Lamar Mitchell - Organ, Strings, and Clavinet Errol Cooney - Guitar Jake Sherard - Guitar Jonas Saks - Bass Anne Fontenot - Background Vocals 31 TIMES (Around the sun) A modern day anthem about the frustrations, elations, and the realities of moving into your 30's from your 20's. I saw so many friends going through changes as they hit that part of their lives. So I wrote a song about it for when I hit that time; to remind me that "every little thing is gonna be alright". This song was recorded by Dave Griffy with members of my former Led Zep Tribute band Custard Pie. Kenny Sharretts - Drums, and Vocals Jake Sherard - Guitars, and Vocals Al Griffy - Bass, and Vocals INDIAN SKY My soon -to-be father-in-law stopped by before leaving on a trip to a banjo convention in Arizona. He said "I'm leaving in the morning. My bags are packed and soon I'll be in Arizona". I told him I'd be right back. 15 minutes later, this song was written. Co produced by Jared Dodd, the song was recorded at Arlyn studios for Jared's final project to graduate from the audio engineering college MTI. Thankfully, he got an A. Kenny Sharretts - Drums, and Vocals Jake Sherard - Guitars Carson Alexander - Guitars Jemmie Hill - Bass Jared Dodd - Keyboards CONSTANT COMPANION Aaaahh! The rock opus! Inspired by my love of the band Tool and of Chris Cornell's songwriting, this track was recorded by Dave Griffy with parts played by members of my former Led Zeppelin Tribute band Custard Pie. I made sure to bring in the right guys to give us the best chance of achieving true rock ecstacy! Kenny Sharretts - Drums, and Vocals Jake Sherard - Guitars, and Vocals Al Griffy - Bass, and Vocals Kenny proudly uses DW Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Drumsticks, and Remo Drumheads.
