简介
Tim Angsten is a singer-songwriter and record producer/engineer. Angsten originates from the Midwest but now resides in Austin, TX. He began his music career (1995) at the age of eight and has gained a vast amount of experience both on stage performing and in the recording studio. In 2008 Angsten released his debut solo album entitled, "Driven To Drive" and has captured the hearts of audiences throughout the Midwest ever since. Angsten’s 2010 release "Unheard Melodies" merges acoustic austerity with technophilic creativity to produce a fresh and inspired sound. Angsten began his music career (1995) at the age of eight. Like so many children he was forced by his parents to take piano lessons. It wasn't until he saw the movie That Thing You Do at the age of eleven (1998) that he found his true passion for music. Star struck by what he saw, Angsten ran downstairs and set up pillows in the form of a drum set. Using two kitchen utensils he banged away while singing the catchy tune to That Thing You Do. After weeks of begging, his father finally agreed to buy him a beginner electronic drum set which was soon replaced by a standard acoustic kit. Angsten’s father also recommended that he listen to classic albums by Buddy Holly, The Beach Boys and Jerry Lee Lewis. These records truly influenced Angsten as a young musician. 1999; Angsten formed a family band with dad on guitar and little brother (age 7) on bass. They named themselves American Pie after the plane that Buddy Holly was killed in. Their first performance was the junior high music concert. As the trio performed the song Surfin USA both parents and grandparents of the audience were awestruck. The group played many shows up until they disbanded in 2001. 2002; Angsten formed the group Green Flash Society. In the fall of 2003 GFS won the Cascio Music showcase. In 2005, as a result of winning the Brass Bell Battle of the Bands in Glendale, WI the band performed the Harley Stage at Summerfest. 2006 to 2007; Angsten formed the pop/rock trio Hello Hello. The group received radio air play from Milwaukee’s Rock 102.1 and college stations around Wisconsin. In mid 2007 Angsten met a talented singer/songwriter named Jon Troast and was given the opportunity to play bass for the Jon Troast Band. Towards the end of 2007 the band opened for the group America at the Young Auditorium at Whitewater College in Wisconsin. In 2011 Angsten moved to Austin, TX and met a female vocalist (via Craigslist) by the name of Laura Ann Gregson. They formed the Counry/Pop duo Chickory Hill and within the first few months of being together, four of their demo songs were signed to a music licensing contract with Fieldhouse/BMG in New York City.
