简介
Inspired by the voices of The Beach Boys and the guitars of The Strokes this is a song about growing up and how our elders force restrictions upon us. Yet, as we grow older we somehow miss the freedom of our youth. LYRICS: Stop all your clowning around Keep your voices down, down Raise your hand before you speak Don’t you leave your seat That’s what they would tell me That’s what they would tell me You’ve got the right to pass But you can’t skip class, class Feel free to ask me why But I won’t say it twice I wish the moon would shine on me But there’s no time to dance out in the street Don’t ask me why I won’t say it twice That’s what they would tell me That’s what they would tell me That’s what they would tell me I’ll give you all you need To let your mind go free, free Color in between the lines Or you’ll do the time. I wish the moon would shine on me But there’s no time to dance out in the street Don’t ask me why I won’t say it twice (And I won’t tolerate impolite) That’s what they would tell me (If I hear one more of your overly loud yawns Get up and walk the hell out) That’s what they would tell me (Yawn outside. Whatever it is you need to do to get over it.) That’s what they would tell me I wish the moon would shine on me But there’s no time to dance out in the street Don’t ask me why I won’t say it twice That’s what they would tell me CREDITS released 27 June 2014 Aaron Garcia: Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Synthesizer Joshua Stephens: Background Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Tambourine Joseph Stephens: Drums Daniel Lyons: Background Vocals, Bass Mixed and Mastered by Demitri Marmash at Artemis Audio in Kailua, Hawaii.
