简介
Corey "C-Walk" Walker was born in Dallas, TX on April 5th 1984. Corey's father was a hard working, warehouse man who dedicated his every moment to the well being of his family. Corey’s mother was an independent, loving soul who did nothing but love her son and only child. When Corey was 6 years old, his parents divorced. The separation of Corey and his father caused him to question his dad’s love for him. This led to the formation of hatred into his heart. The hatred sprouted the talent of writing down his emotions which led to lyrics with no beats. In addition to writing lyrics, Corey pursued his first love, football. Being an All-District linebacker for W.T White High School, kept him in the favor of his peers. His football skills also attracted the attention of many top college programs. Corey played the safety position at Ranger College in Texas and Dodge City Junior College in Kansas. Corey began freestylin' against fellow students and other college rappers at neighboring schools and clubs. He became known as, C-Walk, the dude from Texas with a "killa flow”. Corey’s love for money grew, which lead to selling drugs and robbery. The college drug money was abundant and his popularity grew as an emcee. However, his football career wasn’t looking as bright and his luck began to change. C-Walk Corey returned to Dallas after 2 years in college as a result of a career-ending knee injury and he became victim to an eroding economy. Corey struggled to provide for his family and loving wife, Deniya. However, his brief struggles strengthened his faith in God and refined his musical talent transforming him from a rapper to a Recording Artist. Corey teamed up with childhood friend, Reggie “DJ Regjoe” Robinson, and formed a crew called Evolution Music. They recorded an album called “The Project”. The album did not have top production quality; however, the streets of their North Park neighborhood loved the creation and longed for more. C-Walk went on a citywide “open mic” tour performing at any and every club he could find. Eventually, DJ Regjoe and C-Walk parted ways as the result of life’s circumstances. C-Walk continued branding Evolution Music with the help of an ambitious friend from his adolescence, Travis Rice aka T. Rice. C-Walk & T. RiceC-Walk and T. Rice focused on the business of the music industry and vowed to work smarter. Evolution began to reap the benefits of their efforts by earning spins in clubs like Dallas Gentlemen, Onxy Dallas, Onxy Houston, Zona Rosa, and Panther City. The spins created a buzz that developed relationships with DJ’s such as DJ Big Bink, Mel da Mack, DJ Do Right, DJ ASAP, Pay the DJ , DJ Bokane and DJ Al . Equipped with new connections and resources, the sky is the limit for C-Walk and his Evolution label.
