Christmas actually came early for us this year, thanks to some great friends lending their time and considerable talents to my song, "Christmas Can't Come Soon Enough." This was my first project in several years, and couldn't have been possible without the help of my longtime friend, Tim Heintz, contributing his awesome tracks (keyboards, digital drums), and newer friend Juan Carlos Contreras providing his guitar, studio, and inspiration. Diana D'itri is a singer I've been privileged to work with in a "live" setting over the years, but I'd never seen her in a recording-studio. She absolutely "owned" this song, as if she'd been singing it her whole life-it was actually just a few weeks! If given the choice of any "superstar" singer to record the first version of my song, I'd simply say, "No thanks, Diana D'itri already sang it and nailed it!" Thanks, Diana. Reggie Ashley was our recording-and-mixing engineer for the completion of this project, and he went above and beyond the call-of-duty, producing vocals, also. It's rare to find such a combination of "great ears," technical skill, and most of all, fantastic attitude and patience. So, "with a little help from my friends," a humble little Christmas-song became reality, hopefully a small sonic-holiday of its own as yet another Christmas-season finds us again this year.
