In the present recording, taken "live" in Jazzland Vienna, on November 1st and 2nd, 1977, a successful venture is made, in this day of pre-programmed musical styles with no regard for the resulting directions in taste, to produce true Piano Blues and Boogie Woogie music as it sounded in its pioneer days. That this is no museum-like reconstruction, but rather a living, deeply felt musical performance, is entirely to the credit of the interpreters.
