简介
I hope you enjoy this album. It was a pleasure working with some truly great jazz musicians. Roy Hargrove and Lee Rucker are without question two of the greatest trumpet players today. Keith Anderson is a smokin' bluesy sax player who has can be heard with Marcus Miller and RH Factor, and Jeremy Thomas is one of the best "undiscovered" B3 players out there today. Mitch Bell's guitar playing is awesome and he has an incredible tone. Willie Peterson completes the rhythm section on drums with his hard kickn' feel. I am Heath Jones, on tenor sax, and I hope you enjoy my playing. I thought about doing this album/recital project while I was practicing one morning at 6 am in Beijing, China. I was playing my tenor from the 10th floor of an office building while watching many people in cars and on bicycles going to work. The site of so many people on the busy hi-way spurred me to think and reminisce about life – “where I was, where I am, & where I want to go”. Then, it dawned on me – This is my 20th reunion of high school graduation (1988) – I should do something for this milestone in my life. So, I decided to do an album with two of my friends (Keith Anderson & Roy Hargrove) who I played with in high school – and do a recital with some musicians who I have wanted to perform with. It has been a great experience doing this project and I am so happy that all of this has come together. Heath Jones – Tenor Saxophone Roy Hargrove – Trumpet (track 1) Lee Rucker – Trumpet Keith Anderson – Alto Sax (track 4) Mitch Bell – Guitar Jeremy Thomas – Organ (Drums on tracks 1 & 4) Willie Peterson – Drums
