简介
On After the Apocalypse, singer/songwriter Chris Ellis reprises the arc of lost innocence - from disappointment and despair through ennui and eventual rebirth. "I'm a cynical romantic," Chris says of his quixotic outlook. After knocking around in six states, a three-year stint in Nashville reenergized Chris's music. "I met some very generous and talented musicians there," he says. Backed by accomplished Nashville session players, including guitarist/producer Jim Gibson, After the Apocalypse showcases Ellis's folk, rock, pop and country sensibilities. "My influences are as diverse as the places I've lived. Pittsburgh, Louisiana, Houston, New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Nashville. But I don't consciously emulate any one," says Ellis. After the Apocalypse combines Chris's influences in ten songs that become more involving and more resonant the more you listen, eventually revealing more answers than questions.
