White Night is an inovative transatlantic synth-pop duo. The German–American duo began collaboration whilst completing their graduate studies in classsical music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music (USA) in 2017. For a periode of time, the couple overcame both distance and time difference, sending musical ideas across the Atlantic between San Francisco and Berlin. Willi would produce electronic ideas in Berlin and send them to San Francico where Elizabeth, while Willi was asleep on the other side of the world, would compose vocal and viola arrangements in her appartment by the ocean. Eventlually White Night settled together again in San Francisco where they did a West Coast tour with performances in San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles and Seattle. One year later, the duo decided to relocate to Berlin in order to be closer to the home of electronic music. The duo composes with a variaty of influences, Elizabeth drawing from the spectacular nature of her native Pacic Northwest and the sweeping drama of orchestral music (which she studied in both London and California). Willi is inspired by minimalist music and electronic music coming from Berlin. He is also influenced by the electronic music scene of his adolesenct years in Jena and his classical music studies in Berlin and San Francisco. The Style of White Night combines elements of electronic Beats, sofly woven vocals and dramatic string and synth arrangments, reflecting their mutal love of soundtrack music. In March 2019 the Duo released their Debut Album „Golden Heart“ which was published by Motor Entertainment and funded by Initiative Musik. White Night won the US Songwriting Award 2019 in the catogry „Music for Motion Picture“ with their song titled „Fade“.
