The duo Banana Scrait was born in the mid-nineties, the result of the meeting between Andrea Agda, a guitar girl who loved to hear the melodic lines of Johnny Marr and a young saxophonist, Daniel Arruda, who used to practice his saxophone while listening to vinyl records of his idols

Ben Webster, Charlie Parker, Chet Backer and Thelonious Monk. The duo is able to combine the simplicity of harmonies and rock tunes, with the rigor of more elaborate and sophisticated arrangements, using, for this, instruments with peculiar sound as clarinet, tenor sax, trombone and vibraphone. Not to be restricted to a single musical genre, can be considered the Banana Scrait as a Brazilian band contemporary indie-folk-bossa-pop. But that does not has the potential to unravel other braided layers in the sound world of the band. If you hear songs like Nina Walks or Butterflies Suite you can even agree to add the classic as other genre belonging to the universe of the band.
