Touch the Earth are a Tribal Folk Band who play music and songs inspired by spirit and the natural world around them. our music has been described as: ‘A vibration of pure energy gathers one up, the flutes, violin, guitar, didge, drummers and singers are part of this surrealism – the essence is pure spirit.’ – The Holistic Channel We are unique in their instruments and approach to performance, in addition to the more traditional Guitar, Fiddle and Voice we also use Big Double skinned Drums, Djembe, Didgeridoo’s, flutes and the 5ft Fujara: a Slovakian shepherds flute which creates otherworldly soundscapes. Our concerts are a mixture of songs, ballads and improvised pieces which frequently take the listeners imagination to the wild places of this land. The new CD 'Songs of the land' has once a again come from live recordings made at concerts across the UK, the CD is the first one to include our newest member - Lewis Skinner who has contributed three songs to the Album - I'm Alive, Mighty River Flows and Moments in Time. The CD also features the Fujarah for the first time played by Lee Gosney-Hunt, this instrumnet has been part of our live shows for the last three years but only now can it be heard on CD. As the CD developed it became clear that it was a CD of two halves or sides, much like a vinyl LP with the first half being a collection of songs some which have become live favourites and the second half mostly instrumental pieces to take the listener on a meditative journey and finishing on the beautiful and uplifting piece 'Shine'.The final track - 'Moments in Time' is the song we usually play at the end of our concerts, with everyone joining hands and singing along with the chorus. Songs of the Land is a CD of positivity and optimism, connection with the Land, the Ancestors and Mother Earth.
