简介
Parables is James Bird's freshman album which tells a story of transformation, the sea, love, and light. James Bird first awakens in the opening track "Mr. Officer" where he openly fires at society's standards and the authority figure with honest lyrics and the stomps of those who want change. This is the first stepping stone of the story for it shows his outlook of revolution is similar to Malcom X's of change through force. But soon he learns in the next track "Seeing As Is" that he is afraid of what the world is coming to and this overwhelms him. Then Miss Molly takes the stage in the haunting track "Miss Molly". The song opens to a strip club where a man is seduced by the temptress who he then takes home. James returns home to find his brother dead on the floor, only to learn that root of all suffering is desire. He walks downstairs to only find Miss Molly waiting to get him too. After a quick getaway he decides to take a walk and question his life in "Turn Me Right From Wrong." Now, he is really questioning those in power and societal norms but now through a place of love. He transforms in this song and sees that there is only love and fear. He decides to choose love. In "Transcending Darkness", the sea, the earth, and the skies tell him to celebrate and be joyous because darkness is only the absence of light in this foot stomper. He then leaves his body to find himself at the sea side where he meets a wise man who is sent from "Anchor Ridge" to help him understand all the wisdom that is pouring into his opened mind. He confirms that "darkness is only a state of mind" and he tells James that he must sail the seas for a woman is calling for him. He also mentions that by sailing the sea he will find his way. The wise man leaves on a high note pushing James upward into the stars as he continues his out of body experience through the cosmos in "Truly Seek Truth". In Truly Seek Truth he reflects on his current life situation and comes back to his body to teach others to seek their own truth before he takes off for the ocean in "The Sea, My Lover and Me". You must buy the album to find out what happens at the end! Was the wise man right? Who is this woman? What can go wrong? What will he learn on the sea? The album ties up everything and leaves you feeling extremely uplifted and confident that this world is coming to a new place of love and light. James Bird's last words are "Change Will Come". After hearing this album, I believe he is right. *** Hello everybody! I hope you enjoy this music/story and I hope it sticks with you in the coming years! There is much more to come besides this album, and you can stay updated on my Facebook page! https://www.facebook.com/Jamesbird619. I would like to thank William Boynton who recorded this album with me in 9 straight days working 15 hours each day, and then worked on it for 2 months on his own time especially in the last couple of days working every waking hour with me online to finish mixing this album. On the last day we mixed for 24 straight hours, staying up all night and he did it all with a smile on his face. Thank you very much, this album would not exist without you. If you're trying to record an album, he is the man to go to. Extremely easy to work with and excellent at what he does. I'd also like to thank Jesse Ciarmataro for mastering this album in 4 hours, (very last minute) as well as helping with production and mixing! Check out his stuff on Soundcloud, he creates amazing music! https://soundcloud.com/qwill Also thank you to Daneil Alvarez de Toledo for his for his production ideas, and John Landergan, Adam Bouchard and Seanna Flynn for their gang vocals! Also thank you to my family, "The Bros", the family of "LOLB", and Lydia Huebenthal for being apart of the process! Parables was a 2 year long, transformative writing process and I will never be the same because of it. Recording this album was another learning experience and I am grateful to now have those lessons in my pocket. We tried our best to make this album as natural as we could. We did not use auto-tune for the human voice isn't meant to be perfect. In the end, it all came together and I am forever grateful to all those who helped make this a reality. I hope this album finds you well and I wish you the best of happiness, love, and peace. Namaste, my friends!
