I call this, "Old Soul School Music," with lots of different flavors, some smooth, funky , dance, sexy. sprinkled with some sax kinda music. a little something for everybody,,It will definately bring back that Old Soul School feeling. I try to stick to a style that I truely feel or that feels good to me, that way i when I'm finished with a project, I will really feel good about it. but on the other hand one critic Daddy B. Nice say my style is too laid back, and he said " El' Willie stubbonly continues to be laid back.. " but that's just the kinda guy that I am , laid back, and if he knew me , he would know that. So to Daddy B Nice , you do you , and I will do me ok. Thanks for the advice , but no thanks. I came up at a time when Soul Music and Blues was the sounds that oo-sed through the streets, and there was a lot of different styles, and a lot of different sounds, and evertbody have thier own thing, their own trademark one might say. so when you heard them you would know who the were and what to expect, and that keep the misic more exciting and there was a more to choose from and the buyer had a choice, and the more choices, the better the business was. but now a few critics like the one I mentioned seems to, noticed I said " seems to", want every artist to sound like thier favorite artist, that way they can control or dictate what is acceptable and what is not.... well sorry to say, that dog won't hunt for me, I'm not going to be pigeon holed by a few critics, I must stay true to myself. One thing I do know from experience is if you think one way, there will be a million other people that think the same way that, and there will be a million that won't ..So if you really check it out,, that put you in a win, win situation,,any way it go..So I think I'll just stick to being El' Willie, it's much easier for me....
