Keenan's "Crave The Floor" Album is a Grammy Contender for 2006 for Best Album. Joey Welz of Canadian American Records has announced that Keenan Baxter's "Crave The Floor" album is a Grammy Contender in the "Best Album" category. Keenan's first single "Decent" (Dance/Electronic Genre) made the Top 40 Worldwide Indie Chart in 2004. Keenan's quick success can only be attributed to the quality of his music and his unique style he composes with. Keenan is the next generation of music, digitally in and digitally out, and started over 7 years ago just clicking around on the computer. Being self-taught and composing his songs on the computer has allowed Keenan to develop his own style right from the start. Keenan composes from the computer adding instruments one track at a time and editing until he comes up with a song he likes. Many times people comment, "I've never heard anything like it," and quite frankly, they haven't. Keenan also combines genres, another "asset" that comes from not being traditionally trained. "Adaptec Recommended" is a Funky-Dance. The "Back Door" is a Blues-Dance. "Caligula" is a Urban dance (if you slow it down, you can actually rap over it) Onyx is another Urban-Dance. As a matter of fact "The Back Door" has been edited into a Blues song with a Nikki George, a famous Chicago Jazz vocalist. His songs have many layers of instruments sometimes with several sub-harmonies and over 24-28 tracks (most songs on the radio have just 5 tracks). Most of his sounds are upbeat Dance/techno format, easy to listen to but with a little edge (not too Industrail sounding). His songs also take you to several plateaus with various instruments added and taken away along the way. His songs are mood changers, and can only be described as the next genertaion of "Yanni." Many, many people have told us Keenan's songs changes their mood. "Keenan is truly gifted, many times he counter points his melodies, and in one of his latest songs he even uses four counterpoints," said Bill Thice, from Front Porch Music, Valparaiso, Indiana. "Most composers don't develop counter pointing until very late in life, if at all, but Keenan just does it without knowing it," continued Bill. In addition, unlike other electronic composers, Keenan composes note by note whereby he hears the song in his head before sitting down at the computer and does not us ready-made loops or samples. One of his celtic songs had over 14 percssion tracks alone! Keenan likes Hip Hop, Rap, Dance, Techno, RAVE, and House and his instrumentals combine elements of them all. Keenan hopes to create Dance music that is musically driven based upon musical composition instead of just random sounds accidently put together. HIs music appeals to a wide audiences with the very young like his RAVE and older generations like his New age, Blue, and mellower songs! "We really think Keenan's has a shot at getting a major label to pick him up," stated Joey Welz.
