简介
Ted Sink's fourth CD od original compositions, Fountainhead was recorded mixed and mastered in Scarborough, Maine and Portsmouth, New Hampshire by Andy Happel, who also appears on violin, cello, mandolin, guitar, keyboards and percussion. All songs on Fountainhead were composed by Ted Sink, who performs lead and harmony vocals while anchoring each of the tunes with nylon string guitar. Kent Allyn is featured on bass and guitar throughout the CD, and in the final tune, Solstice, on piano. Robby Coffin plays an amazing guitar solo on Blues For My Brother and adds his sparkling lead Tele to four other tunes. Bruce Derr’s evocative pedal steel guitar adds airy nuance to Wildest Dreams. Timothy Sink’s jazz flute solo makes Jasmine, the album’s only pure instrumental, come alive; and his tenor sax enhances Blues For my Brother. On drums, Sean Daniels drives the reggae She’s The One, the classic R&B groove on Blues For My Brother, and the sparsely haunting Wildest Dreams. Andy’s cocktail kit and digital drum tracks cover the rest. Additional vocal harmonies are provided by Kate Harfe on the title tune and Solstice. The extended outtro of the opener, Woundedness, features a baroque string trio by Andy. Blues For My Brother, featuring Robby’s guitar solo, was composed in 1971 and never publicly performed until now. I Love You More Than Ice Cream was originally performed for the wedding of David and Alicia Bowen. This version was arranged, performed and produced by Andy, using Ted’s vocals and Kent’s bass tracks. The instrumental break in Solstice, inspired by Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, was arranged and performed by Andy. Ted's earlier CDs include Mistaken (2002), Superette (2005), and Nothing Changes (2009)
