Ten years have elapsed since the release of From the Valley to the Throne, Ata's first collection of gospel hymns. Somewhere Up Ahead continues his family legacy of the hymns he learned as a child under the tutelage of his mother and maternal grandfather as they carried their ministry throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Several of the hymns come from the island of Niihau. Adding to Ata's glorious vocals and stellar musicianship are vocal and musical support from Ahumanu (Liz Morales and Joni DeMello), Kaiolohia Funes Smith, and Cody Pueo Pata. This collection will please devotees of Hawaiian music as well as those who find inspiration in faith-based music.

Somewhere Up Ahead won the prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano award for best gospel music of Hawaii for the year 2010.
