Biography: Jesse Ferguson is a folk musician from Cornwall, Ontario, who has lived and performed in Cornwall, Ottawa, Fredericton, and Sydney, Cape Breton. He posts videos of traditional and original music on YouTube (youtube.com/BardofCornwall) as ‘The Bard of Cornwall.’ His first album, New Old Songs, was released in 2009, and he has released 3 others since then.

Folk Favourites gathers Irish, Scottish, and English folk songs that range from upbeat drinking songs to tender ballads of lost love. In making the selection, Jesse looked at which of the crowd favourites and his personal favourites had yet to be recorded in the studio, and the resulting collection was aptly named Folk Favourites.

On this CD Jesse performed all vocals, including harmonies, and instrumentals, including: guitar, mandolin, bodhran, harmonica, glockenspiel and the spoons. He also recorded, mixed and mastered the songs on Mixcraft 6, and he designed the covers of the album. Photos were taken by Jesse Ferguson and Laura Ferguson. Additional thanks to the musician’s beautiful wife, Laura, for supporting the project and to her father, Peter, who allowed his wood shop to be turned into a recording studio for several weeks.
